About Project

The repaired pipeline is a 24’’ diameter pipe line conveying gas from Warri to Escravos. The leak points were located at Batan and Madagho (kpokpo) Communities. The damaged section of the first point was cut out and a spool of 12.7m (1cwc pipe) was welded, Ultrasonic Tested-ok, wrapped, concrete doped and tied-in to the existing line while the leak point at Madagho (kpokpo), a total of 3CWC pipes were welded and ties in to the existing lines certified ok, wrapped, concrete doped, lowered back filled.

NGPTC team must be emulated for their friendly disposition all through the period even in times of discrepancy. NGPTC monitoring team should be highly commended for their time, effort and sacrifices to monitor all the stages of the job irrespective of weather conditions and made meaningful contributions at each stage. NGPTC should also be commended for properly flushing the line for repairs to avoid incidences and emergencies. Client should ensure that the right drawings for a facility is available to the contractor before moving to site in other not to temper with other ground facilities. There should be provision for timber mat for personnel’s and equipments to gain access to site in the event of high or low tide.

The sectional replacement projects were executed in the sequence as stated below:
